The asset markets of Taiwan have opened up, but they sorely lack top-level professional talents needed for their continued growth and development.
To be considered a top-level financial manager, one should not only have solid background and training in economics and finance, but he or she should also have a firm foundation in mathematics and statistics.
The department aims at attracting young students with good mathematical skills and training them to become Taiwan's high tech financial talents. In gathering and training this pool of financial talents, the department hopes to help in making Taiwan's dream of becoming the Asia-Pacific regional financial center a reality.
